Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield) mungkin tak pernah mengira kalau ia bakal kehilangan ayah (Jude Law) yang ia cintai, apalagi kalau kepergian ayahnya dipenuhi misteri seperti ini. Tapi semua sudah terjadi dan tak ada pilihan lain buat Hugo selain menghadapi kenyataan pahit ini sambil tetap berusaha mencari tahu ke mana ayahnya menghilang.
Sebelum menghilang, ayah Hugo sempat mewariskan beberapa barang yang sepertinya meninggalkan petunjuk buat Hugo. Hugo tak tahu harus bagaimana namun ia tetap harus berusaha. Di saat yang sama
Hugo juga harus merahasiakan di mana ia tinggal selama ini. Memang tak ada yang tahu kalau Hugo selama ini tinggal di lorong-lorong yang tersembunyi di antara dinding-dinding stasiun kota Paris.

Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield) probably never thought that she'd lost her father (Jude Law) who he loves, especially when filled with the mystery of his father's death like this. But all has happened and there was no other choice for Hugo than face the harsh reality of this while still trying to figure out where his father disappeared.
Before disappearing, Hugo's father had bequeathed a few items that seemed to leave a hint for Hugo. Hugo did not know what to do but he still must try. At the same time
Hugo also must be kept where he lived for this. Indeed, no one knows if Hugo had been living in the halls of hidden between the walls of the station of Paris.
